NPR introduced me to Regina Specktor, and now I’m in love, so I thought I should share her with you all too.

This is Don’t Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas) by Regina Spektor.

I’m gonna sound like Zooey Deschanel, but I like quirky stuff like this. >:D

All my friends from high school time know this… :)

The infamous “deserted island” English lesson!
(Don’t worry, it’s subtitled. :D)

Yaguchi Mari (of Morning Musume fame) being taught an English phrase by Ayaka (of Coconuts Musume fame)

The iconic scene “Dancing in the Dark,” as seen on May 20, 1989’s episode of Saturday Night Live. Host Steve Martin found out original “Not-Ready-For-Primetime” cast member Gilda Radner passed away mere hours before going live, and decided to show this clip instead of delivering a eulogy in his monologue.

EUROVISION 2012: My Top Five

All right, rounding out my top five is this guilty pleasure of a song/group. I love them, I can’t help but smile when I see them perform.

Yeah, the song may be a little ridiculous, but I give them credit for writing it. And honestly, I would totally vote for this, I’m not joking you.

They have high odds on winning, so I can expect an actual top five finish if people take to them well. :D

Buranoskiye Babushki | Party For Everybody (Russia)

EUROVISION 2012: My Top Five

I think this is the riskiest of my personal favourites to place a bet on, but to be absolutely fair, the song is extremely catchy. I’m hoping it’ll finish in the top fifteen in the final, but we must get to the final first…

Cyprus has a history of not making it to the final, but I’m hoping they will! :)

For the record, I liked the song before I saw the PV—loved it after.

Ivi Adamou | La La Love (Cyprus)

EUROVISION 2012: My Top Five

This one’s a risky guess, but it’s a personal favourite.
I love the lyrics, and Humperdinck has such a smooth crooning voice, so I would hope for at least a top ten finish.

My only worry is he’s out of his depth with the youth voters and may be easily overlooked considering he’s leading off the final…

Englebert Humperdinck | Love Will Set You Free (United Kingdom)

EUROVISION 2012: My Top Five

I remember seeing the comments on Sweden’s entry pointing to how Iceland was better, and I thought, “They’re fucking crazy! No way!!”

… Turns out Iceland gives Sweden the hardest time from the other forty-one entries.
Solid vocals, excellent composition and arrangement, and there’s no doubt they’ll sail through to the final.

I’d expect a top three finish.

Greta Salome & Jonsi | Never Forget (Iceland)

EUROVISION 2012: My Top Five

Eurovision’s fast approaching—the semi-finals are already next Tuesday and Thursday!
I figured I would post my top five to see how it holds up to what will happen on Saturday’s final…

Without a doubt my number one. Fell in love with it the first time I listened to everything, and this was the first song I put on repeat out of all forty-two songs.

Added bonus? This acoustic version.

Loreen | Euphoria (Sweden)

Rebecca Ferguson - Backtrack (US bonus track)

Heaven out May 29th!

It’s a little scary how this song actually reflects the amount of time which passed between graduation and now…

One of my favourites, and I love this version because of the tight harmonies. :)

Videos like this remind me I have a heart and not a black hole in my chest.

It should be illegal for people to be this damn beautiful.

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

the one in the yellow has so much groove though

  1. I am totally stealing moves from this video for my Summer Fun dance.
  2. I am totally kidnapping these children and they’re gonna teach me those moves.
  3. I am totally in love with vegetables now.
