All my friends from high school time know this… :)
The infamous “deserted island” English lesson!
(Don’t worry, it’s subtitled. :D)
Yaguchi Mari (of Morning Musume fame) being taught an English phrase by Ayaka (of Coconuts Musume fame)

It’s a little scary how this song actually reflects the amount of time which passed between graduation and now…
One of my favourites, and I love this version because of the tight harmonies. :)

Not too bad, it’s when there are fricatives and shit that screw me up.
The kanji really helps, I’m not gonna lie.

I was able to win another poetry prize! :)
雲のない

I am connected with the person* I cannot meet.*I decided to translate 会えぬあなた as “the person I cannot meet” to make more sense in English. Literally it would be “the you I cannot meet.”

I don’t know if I feel old, like a dedicated fan, or just plain weirded out when songs I thought were recent are over five years old now. :O

A comprehensive video resume of Hamasaki Ayumi.
There were rumours as to who this was directed to: many point to her father, who left Ayu and her mother early in Ayu’s life.
Either way, this comes off one of her most emotional albums, Duty.
Today, the story of two people meeting, understanding each other, and parting repeats itself somewhere.
There’s never a day I have to remember you because
I never for a moment forgot about you.
At the times when we can’t meet
your voice cracks over the telephone.
The smile on your face that time when we met after so long
Tugs at my chest.I’ve realized that you are deep within my heart.
“I love you”— I can’t imagine myself saying those words!
If you can tell me what the original song is, you win. :)
Hint: The original featured a female vocalist. :D
