HAHA Kobayashi Yoshimi, she’s quite funny… >:D
The Kobayashi siblings, in addition to Kobayashi Tetsuya, are like my top three now. :)

I die on long or heavy oil cause my ball never reads the lane. D:

Diandra Asbaty had a big win at the USBC Queens tournament, where she beat Carolyn Dorin-Ballard (no small feat) in the finals last Tuesday and took home the title. This marks Diandra’s first major professional victory (not achievement—she’s had plenty of those). We were already happy for her. But then we heard her in interviews and got to know her even more, and we got even happier. Why? Because she rules. In fact, we’ve got 11 reasons why she rules—same amount of frames Diandra has every single game she rolls.
Here they are:
- While competing in the USBC Queens tournament, she dropped her mic in the toilet during the break, and then told the world about it in her post-championship interview with BowlTV. Nice to know you can be clumsy and roll like a champ. We got half of that down. You can guess which half.
- Her Twitter avatar (attached to this post) could be reprinted in the dictionary, replacing any textual definition of the word “happy.”
- Speaking of her Twitter avatar, she looks awesome in a tiara.
- She’s from Oak Lawn, Illinois. We’ve got friends there! She’s a University of Nebraska grad. One of us over here is a University of Illinois grad. Big Ten! It’s almost like she’s family…Right, Diandra?
- She’s throwing out the first pitch at a White Sox game, and she presented the game ball to the refs at a recent Chicago Bulls game. You know who does stuff like that? Presidents. Actors. Oh, and DIANDRA ASBATY!
- She’s a mom. As if that’s not already worth all the praise in the world, let’s give her another round of applause since it’s almost Mother’s Day.
- She beat Carolyn Dorin-Ballard. That takes serious, serious skills.
- She’s been on Team USA 14 times. Can you imagine being on that team even once?
- Pro bowler, marketing director, mom, wife, oh and she’s also got her own successful line of clothing. All in a day’s work.
- She runs the Diandra Asbaty Foundation, which aims to give two scholarships (one to a male, one to a female) to high school bowlers. So, kids: stay in school. The rest of you: why not make a donation?
- She’s got the world’s best attitude and philosophy. This one quote from her BowlTV interview (when she was asked about the last time she was at the Queens and rolled a 143) proves it: “I’m a completely different bowler because of that experience. And if I could do it all over again in 2007, I wouldn’t change anything because that has made me the bowler that I am today. It’s our failures that make us succeed. It’s moments like those that make moments like these.” WOW. Well said.
Congratulations, Diandra! Now get out there and give us 11 more reasons to love you!

I REALLY like how happy Mel looks in this picture. Seems like a sweet granddad figure! :D
After fifteen years, my final major junior bowling tournament. One last chance to prove my worth…
Happy Easter!
I ended up making the top 6 (#4) with a 2202 for 12 games (~184.5 average).
This was a pretty pitiful Pepsi tournament so far…
Let’s turn it around for tomorrow! :D
and notice my two ball tote has been replaced by a three-ball tournament tote.
Do not judge me if I’m being made to bring six balls to this tournament.
